Individual Intensive Therapy

  • Extended sessions that offer increased focus and deeper processing.

More frequent sessions to support consistency and regulation.

A collaborative care planning process so that we build an intensive program that meets your unique needs.

  • The Assessment is where we dive into your needs and set intentions. The care plan we create will provide us with structure, that way we have somewhere to check-in and land as we explore and do our work.

The first 3 sessions is where we determine together if what this space offers works well for you. If for any reason we decide you need something else, I will support you in figuring out what’s next.

The first 90 days is where I have consistently witnessed the biggest impact in regards to symptoms decreasing, health improving, and people making significant progress.

After 90 days, we will take time to review where we started and where we are now. This intentional review is where we make adjustments, add new goals, or celebrate your wins and end care!

If this neuro-affirming, trauma-informed approach proves to be super effective for you, then we can discuss committing to another 90 days.

  • Adjunct Brainspotting Therapy is supplemental to your primary therapeutic alliance.

Care plans are shorter, which requires quick rapport-building, and invites collaboration with your primary therapist to support you in achieving the best results.

We typically focus on a specific stuck point that keeps coming up in your work with your primary therapist, and work through it somatically to get you back on track.

Adjunct services typically last at least 90 days depending upon your needs and goals.

What is Brainspotting?

Brainspotting is a stage 2 advanced therapy that works by identifying, processing, and releasing core sources of emotional distress, anxiety, dissociation, physical pain, and a variety of other challenging trauma related symptoms.

This is a powerful, focused treatment that uses intentionally mixed, biolateral music to support deep work within a contained and regulated therapeutic space.

Brainspotting is a somatic modality that integrates interventions from EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and Psychoanalysis to support the brain and body in re-processing experiences. Because we cannot think ourselves out of being triggered, stage 1 modalities like CBT, DBT, or ACT often can only take healing so far. On the other hand, somatic modalities work to re-calibrate the nervous system including the physical brain and the body in the work.

In addition to addressing the lingering impacts of trauma, Brainspotting is also highly effective for personal growth, identity exploration, entrepreneurs, artists and creatives, and those looking to deepen their self awareness or spirituality.

Because this modality is flexible, I offer a focused approach to personal development and identity work, which my LGBTQ+ Queer and “AuDHD” clients have really loved!

Is Brainspotting only for trauma?

What makes Brainspotting so effective?

Because Brainspotting focuses on resourcing the nervous system throughout the therapeutic process, folx typically end sessions feeling more relaxed, grounded, and connected. If you have engaged in a therapy modality that has left you feeling overwhelmed or disconnected from yourself, you might consider Brainspotting.

Even as little as 3 Brainspotting sessions can bring about the healing equivalent of 12 traditional talk therapy sessions. For a single incident event, that could be 3 weeks of therapy instead of 3 months. For more complex trauma, that could be 6 months of therapy instead of 2 years.

According to a recent study, Brainspotting was found to be the most effective. EMDR and CBT patients reported their symptoms returning at the 6-month follow-up, while Brainspotting patients continued to get better following their treatment being over. Research is ongoing and you can read about here.

How do I know if I am ready for somatic therapy?

Typically, you know you’re ready when you understand where your trauma comes from and you can identify your triggers and cope pretty well, but you are quite frustrated with how often you still get triggered, or how intense certain triggers are despite months or even years of therapy.

If you aren’t sure, you can talk with your current therapist about it, or request a free initial video call with me to see if you would be a good candidate!
